Found this on my phone that someone posted years a Found this on my phone that someone posted years ago and it made me laugh…because it’s still so true (especially once January 1st hits and everyone is making new years resolutions!) Can anyone else relate to this? Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year! One that is hopefully filled with balanced, nutritious food and of course, Oreos in moderation šŸ’œ
Obsessed with these lower carb egg tacos on @outer Obsessed with these lower carb egg tacos on @outeraislegourmet cauliflower sandwich thins. I added kale to get in some non-starchy vegetables, feta and hot sauce. So easy and delicious! Hope you all have a great Sunday šŸ’œ
Anyone else proud of themselves for getting throug Anyone else proud of themselves for getting through another year of this pandemic while working full time and being a mom? Can’t just be me! Today I stopped for about 5 minutes (as usual lol) and realized it was December 1st. I truly can’t believe it’s December and this year is almost over. I naturally thought to myself that I’m glad this year is almost done and am looking forward to a new start. But January 1 doesn’t always have to signify a new start! Today can be the day we change things up and give ourselves the fresh start we’ve been thinking about all year. And if anyone has any tips on how make a 2.5 year old like taking photos, I’m asking for a friend šŸ˜‚
Portobello mushroom Parmesan šŸ˜ Again, can’t t Portobello mushroom Parmesan šŸ˜ Again, can’t take credit (thanks @realhomechef), but seriously proud of myself for making it to week 3 (I tend to give up on meal delivery services lol). I’m going to have mine with @explorecuisine black bean pasta for more fiber. Let’s see if I can get my picky 2 year old to try this (I’m thinking no, but it’s worth a shot!) Hope you all have a great rest of your night!
Sick and cranky toddler = quick dinner kind of nig Sick and cranky toddler = quick dinner kind of night. I threw together a @drpraegers California burger on a 647 English muffin with mozzarella cheese, avocado and a bit of honey mustard. I always forget that I love these veggie burgers and recently started keeping them in my freezer more often for quick lunches and dinners. I’m honestly proud of myself for not ordering pizza after the day I had (even though there’s nothing wrong with ordering pizza!) And what’s great is that those of us who are mindful of carbs don’t have to cut out the bun these days (who remembers burger with no bun? Lol) There are so many healthy swaps to make eating healthy easy and delicious. What are some of your favorite very simple go-to meals when you’re just having one of those days? The good news is there’s always tomorrow!
Perfect Wednesday lunch; spaghetti squash with @ra Perfect Wednesday lunch; spaghetti squash with @raoshomemade sauce and Parmesan cheese. Ideally I would add a protein source such as sautĆ©ed shrimp, but I’m seeing clients all day and don’t have much time. I made this last night to keep in the fridge in anticipation of a busy day, where I knew it was highly possible that I could be skipping lunch (which is certainly not optimal for keeping energy levels up!) Just remember, skipping meals leads to blood sugar crashes and overeating later, which can ultimately lead to weight gain over time. So moral of the story, we actually do want to eat (balanced) to lose weight, not restrict or skip meals. Ok, back to clients, hope you all enjoy your day! šŸ’œ
Wish I could take real credit for this but I’m s Wish I could take real credit for this but I’m seriously obsessed with @realhomechef! My BFF recently introduced me to Home Chef and I have to say, it’s great! It’s so hard to cook at the end of a long day and I was getting into a bad habit of grazing on snacks instead of eating real meals. I was definitely not feeling my best without eating a balanced dinner and the past few days have been so much better since I started this. I never thought I would try any meal delivery kits, but I’m very impressed! Have you guys tried any meal delivery services? I would love to hear which ones you’ve tried and have found success with!
Finally hung up my diplomas in my home office last Finally hung up my diplomas in my home office last night and went through boxes of items that were in my old office space. Since my practice is all virtual at this time, there is really no need to hold on to physical office space, but I really couldn’t help but feel nostalgic. I remember setting up my new office space in 2018 when I literally only had one client (who happened to be my best friend; not sure if she felt bad for me or actually needed the help šŸ˜‚). I remember thinking that there was no way I could ever get enough clients to make a good living doing this. As passionate as I felt (and still feel) about the field of nutrition, I couldn’t imagine that anyone would want my services enough to pay me for them. Fast forward 3.5 years later and I may not have the physical Nutrition Suite, but I have much more. Thank you to all my clients who have stayed loyal to me through the years (even if it’s just because you felt bad for me šŸ˜†). I couldn’t be more grateful to all of you and the business you’ve helped me build. So while it’s goodbye to midtown (for now), I’ll just see you all later on video!
